What are Mosaics?

Mosaics are a pattern made from small pieces of glass, colored stone, or ceramic, held together by plaster or mortar, covering a surface. Mosaics are often used to beautifully decorate floors and walls. The earliest known mosaics art piece examples were found at a Ubaid, Mesopotamia temple dating around the second half of the third millennium BCE.
