This Lithomosaic is a beautiful collaboration with San Diego Artist Christie Beniston and Amanda Elizabeth Mosaics (rendering by Christie)
Fabrication
Artist Christie Beniston selected the warm colors for the mosaic as Amanda Elizabeth Mosaics fabricated the sun, blending Italian tile for a fiery gradient.
Installation
This 6’ diameter sun is installed adjacent to a beachy seat wall and dusted with glass aggregate. This “place” along Highway 101 is designed to encourage passersby to stop, sit, and feel the great energy of the SUN!
